RAAHE

Jimi and Joni are two Finnish students from the group RAAHE Vocational Institute. They both did their internships in autumn 2016, which lasted for about one month. They both worked in a company Avto Koletnik as mechanics, under the supervision of their mentor Mr. Zvonko Pal.

Joni Jauhola

Joni had various tasks to do in the company. They included the whole set of car services:  oilfilter, airfilter, fresh-air filter, sometimes fuelfilter, brakefluid and spark plugs. Normally, he also had to check everytime if the service was done properly. He mostly did services to Nissans, but also to other brands of cars, like Renault and Subaru. His co-workers always offered him a helping hand, but in time he managed to do more and more services on his own, without asking for help. One of the co-workers, named Branko, even taught him to a testing device for car's electric systems, which was a bit of a trouble, since the device was available in Slovenian language only.

Jimi Käräjäoja

Jimi worked together with Joni and his tasks did not vary from Joni's. He did many gearbox repairs to Renaults and timing belt services. They both outdid their tasks and the employees at Koletnik company, whom they both considered being very friendly to them, were realy impressed and satisfied with the knowledge and skills, which were performed by them both. This made their Finnish teacher Harri, who came to Maribor for a visit and to see their evaluation, really proud.
In their free time, both boys explored the city of Maribor, even making a small hiking trip to Pohorje in one of the last nice sunny days in that time of year. Two weekends later, both boys visited the Slovenian capital city Ljubljana, from where they admired, how beautiful the view from the castle can be. One of the nicest memories for them is also meeting a musical band from Estonia, whose members gave them a free CD with their music and signatures.
