Mobility program description

Core Topics (included in every staff mobility programme):
  • Mobility projects - aims and quality implementation: The mobility programme is designed to give participants direct insight into international and multicultural working environments. Through job shadowing, they will learn how ZNI prepares and implements mobility projects, including our approach to cross-cultural, personal, and professional training. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit hosting companies and observe how mobility placements are organised in practice.
  • School system in Slovenia: Participants will be introduced to the Slovenian school system. Presentations will provide an overview of its structure and organisation, while visits to selected school will show how the system functions on a daily basis. Job shadowing activities include observing lessons, meeting with school staff, and learning how schools cooperate with local communities and institutions.
  • Intercultural dimension of mobility: To strengthen the intercultural dimension of the programme, participants will take part in activities that provide meaningful experiences of Slovenian culture. Through guided interactions, they will reflect on cultural differences, develop intercultural competences, and gain insights that support both their professional and personal growth.

Thematic Extensions (optional, based on the group’s needs and interests):
  • Preschool education in Slovenia: For participants focusing on early childhood education, the programme includes a dedicated preschool education component. Through visits to kindergartens in Maribor, participants will observe daily practices, meet educators, and learn how preschool education is organised in Slovenia. They will also be introduced to ZNI’s cooperation with local kindergartens and the Municipality of Maribor, which supports the mobility of preschool teachers abroad.
  • VET system in Slovenia: The programme will present the Slovenian vocational education and training (VET) system, with a focus on professional fields such as tourism, economics, mechanics, wood technology, and civil engineering or others upon request. Participants will visit VET schools and companies to see how theory and practice are combined. Through job shadowing, they will observe workshops, follow teachers and trainers in their work, and gain first-hand insight into the cooperation between schools and employers.
