SOFT PROJECT
At ZNI, we are honoured to be part of a new Erasmus+ partnership project that began on January 1, 2024, and will continue until the end of 2025. The primary objective of the project is to apply the principles of sustainable development to all stages of European mobility by raising awareness of eco-responsibility. This includes establishing an eco-responsible charter and a list of measurable actions aimed at enhancing the impact and environmental friendliness of European mobility. Faced with the challenges of sustainable development, we are committed to pushing boundaries and making our practices more responsible.
PROJECT PARTNERS
The project's leading partner is our long-term collaborator from France, Eurotracks. Combining mobility and sustainable development has been a priority for Eurotracks for several years. Other EU partners involved in the project are AMT - AM Transnational (Spain), IEP - Irish Education Partners (Ireland), and IZI - EasyJob Bridge (Malta).
OBJECTIVES & OUTCOMES
The SOFT project aims to transform practices in organizing and hosting European mobilities at all stages by:
• Professionalizing the network of partners and companies, emphasizing the integration of sustainable development into their practices at all levels.
• Enhancing education for sustainable development not only at the individual level but also at the structural level.
• Providing enriching and responsible mobility experiences that can be recognized in the job market.
The project aims to apply the principles of sustainable development to all stages of European mobility by:
• Raising awareness on eco-responsibility.
• Establishing an eco-responsible charter and a list of measurable actions to enhance the impact and environmental friendliness of European mobility.
• Organizing a return-on-experience seminar and compiling experiences into a Europass document for the beneficiaries.
During the two-year project, the expected results are as follows:
• Increased awareness of eco-responsibility in Erasmus+ European mobility at all levels (adoption of more sustainable practices during mobility).
• Reduction of its carbon footprint.
• Strengthened cooperation between vocational training actors, partners, institutions, and other parties.

Project SOFT officially concludes on 31 December 2025, marking the completion of a collaborative Erasmus+ initiative focused on embedding environmental sustainability within vocational education and training (VET) mobility.
Throughout the project, partners and participants from across Europe worked together to implement the Eco-Sustainability Charter, a practical self-assessment tool designed to support VET learners and host organisations in integrating sustainable practices during international mobility experiences. The final impact assessment demonstrates that 68% of participants introduced new sustainability measures, including improvements in energy and water use, waste management, sustainable purchasing and environmental awareness. These results confirm that sustainability can be effectively embedded into VET mobility through simple, structured and reflective approaches.
In the first week of December, project partners met for the final transnational meeting in Paris, providing an opportunity to review the project’s outcomes, reflect on lessons learned and discuss the long-term impact of the Eco-Sustainability Charter. This meeting reinforced the shared understanding that sustainability is a core vocational competence and highlighted the value of collaboration, knowledge exchange and practical tools in driving meaningful change across diverse VET contexts.
As Project SOFT comes to a close, its legacy continues through the adoption of sustainable habits by participants, strengthened organisational practices and the availability of the Eco-Sustainability Charter and final report as resources for future Erasmus+ mobility projects. The partnership is proud to share the final impact assessment and hopes it will support continued innovation and commitment to sustainability within VET across Europe.
