Students from Bosnia and Herzegovina came to Maribor for their internship within INTERVET Western Balkans Project. INTERVET Western Balkans is a 3-year pilot project for the internationalization of vocational education and training systems in Western Balkans. ZNI is a proud partner that has hosted groups from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia.
Sending organisation of the Bosnian group in June 2023 was IUS Lifelong Learning Center from Sarajevo. The mobility has been coordinated by our long term partner, Uniser Società Cooperativa Sociale Onlus from Forlì, Italy.
As all other groups that we have hosted, students had the usual 3 days of preparation, which includes many activities: presentation of Mobility program and getting to know each other at the ZNI office, Safety at work course at IVD centre, Interview simulation workshop, presentation of Slovenia, visiting National Liberation Museum with a Guided city tour: What can Maribor offer me?. Students also visited the Pohorje hill, which is a must see hike point, and part of mobility program activities as well.
Work practices were organised at different companies in Maribor and its surroundings. Students were placed in the following companies:
Hena: "I did my internship at Hotel Arena as a receptionist, and I also worked in the bar. My main tasks were checking guests in and out of the hotel, checking the cleanliness of the rooms and whether they were ready for the next guests. I have also helped preparing coffees and other drinks at the bar".
Ana Marija: "I worked at the IT company Solviks d.o.o., where I was in charge of my project, which was to create a Pokemon app. I've learned a lot, especially how to add various features. Outside of work, I had a lot of fun and met many people who became my friends as well".
*This project is being co-funded by the European Union.
